Hello all!
Well it’s been a crazy few months and I thought it was time to send you all an update on all the goings on at Rewards Dog Training.
I’ve been working pretty much all year, social sessions, puppy classes – beginners and advanced and 1-2-1 sessions too. But now I’m taking a big step up and launching my new services from September 2025.
Firstly, I’m still at the wonderful K9 Freedom Fields in Coxhoe on Sundays. Sam and I are planning some new events and last week I started my first puppy class in the barn! It was so nice to see the pups experiencing the outdoors. I’m still working with Wilson Vets in Bishop Auckland and Sore Paws in Newton Aycliffe running their Puppy Beginners Classes at their surgeries and more details will be posted as soon as we have dates confirmed.
The Sunday Training School will include the reactive group at 10.30am which is still going strong and getting new dogs turning up which always helps with the mix of dogs in the field. I talk a lot but everyone seems to be very happy and relaxed by the end of the session. Then I’m on to the Puppy Advanced Group class. Until now it’s been a four week course, but people are enjoying it so much I’m opening it up to dogs up to a year old on a pay as you go basis. The pups will learn to socialise and play together in a chilled space. And owners will get the chance to work through those terrible teenage months!

The big news though is that for the past month I’ve been working as a business consultant with Doggy Days Creche and Grooming Salons over in Cramlington and Bedlington helping them to lift their profile. It’s been a great experience for me as I’ve been able to see the creche from the inside and work with the team on how they can improve their activities for the dogs they look after.
And from that association has come the opportunity for me to open my own Saturday Training School at their venue! So from September onwards I will be in Cramlington on Saturdays running puppy, teenage and KC Good Citizen Bronze award classes. There will also be a 1-2-1 problem solving clinic with 30 minute appointments to help owners work on those irritating things that their dogs do. Bookings will be on line from September and full details will be going up on the website soon but if you’re interested in any of the classes you can still contact me directly.
Finally, my gorgeous Edie is 12 years old this week. And she’s still not slowing down despite having a few wobbly vestibular events this year. So I’m throwing her a birthday party! This week’s social sessions will be FREE OF CHARGE and offer a chance for everyone to come along (even those dogs who don’t normally get invites) and celebrate. There will be cake, games and even some off lead play time for those who want to have a run around during the second session. Freya and Boudi and Rupert will be there too!
